Join us for the fifth installment of our Culture Club series, Showing Up As Your Best Self!

Showing up as your best self is where effective educational leaders consistently bring their best selves model self-care. This session sets the stage for a holistic and enriching learning experience, where leaders champion educators in their continuous growth and encourage self-care to pave the way for a thriving educational community where both staff and students flourish.

  • Shannon Leatherwood, Principal, Spanaway Middle School, Bethel School District

    Shannon Leatherwood is the principal at Spanaway Middle School in the Bethel School District. She was also recognized as the 2023 Washington State Secondary Principal of the Year. She's in her 12th year as a principal and fifth at Spanaway Middle School, and she leads with two principles. First, she is driven by what is best for students. And secondly, she believes if something isn’t sustainable, it’s not worth doing.

  • Gina Yonts, Associate Director, AWSP

    Gina joined the AWSP team the summer of 2018. She has served in education the past 27 years as a classroom teacher, Middle School Assistant and Lead Principal, as well as an Elementary Principal in the Walla Walla School District.
